Teacher and School Support COVID-19 Grant

COVID-19 Hazard Pay Grants
Posted on 11/06/2020

Bendle employees that worked during the COVID-19 shutdown between 4/2/2020-6/30/2020 may be eligible for the Michigan Department of Treasury Teacher or School Support COVID-19 Grant Programs.  Qualifying K-12 Classroom Teachers are eligible for up to $500.00 and School Support Staff for up to $250.00.  The amount of the hazard pay will be prorated for part-time staff based on their FTE.

Form 5734, the Teacher and Support Staff COVID-19 Grants Certification, will be provided by email to classroom teachers and support staff that the school district determined may be eligible.  The form will be distributed by Monday, November 9, 2020.

To be eligible for the hazard pay, Classroom Teachers and Support Staff must return Form 5734 to Bendle Public Schools by December 4, 2020. Failure to return Form 5734 to your school office or supervisor by December 4, 2020 would make the employee ineligible for grant funding.

Employees that do NOT receive an email or notification with Form 5734 by that date and believe they may still be eligible for the grant may appeal to the Bendle Administration Office in writing by December 4, 2020.

Please note that the following positions do not qualify for either of these grants: administrators, substitute teachers or any staff that weren’t working during the shutdown period.

Written appeals regarding eligibility status or FTE calculation should be submitted to:
